First (and only) time I had a study progress to the 1914 doctrine I was incredibly embarrassed to explain the 607 - 2520 years BS.

Is The WTBTS' View Of Homosexuality Softening?
by JW GoneBad inor at least the public may be given the impression that jws and the wtbts are fair minded and do not discriminate against the homosexual lifestyle.
check out this quote from the nov 1, 2011 watchtower (public edition).
the article on page 4 is entitled 'ten questions about sex answered'.. question 8: does god approve of homosexuality?.
-
Mad Sweeney
That's why there are two versions of the WT
This is the answer. They are soft in the public version of the magazine (the 1st of the month). It's the kool-aid edition (the 15th of the month) that they're hardcore.

What Is Happening To KH Trustees In UK? Tranfering 'Deeds' To IBSA
by BroMac inhad a phone call with an elder friend this week.. and he mentions that they passed a resolution at their meeting this week which involves changing the legal 'ownership' of the 'deeds' of the kh and transfering it to wts/ibsa in the uk.. this 'new arrangement' comes direct from wt hq apparently.
he goes on to say how it passed the approval of the congregation and then laughingly said how1 brother was not in favour of the resolution.. he said: "you always get one don't you?
this was all news to me, as far as i know we have not had this happen here.. what do you guys think?.
-

Your understanding is correct, BroMac.
This is a relatively new phenomenon in the USA. Kingdom Halls used to belong to the local congregation. They still do. The difference is that over the past 12-15 years or so the Watchtower has "encouraged" congregation trustees to amend their bylaws/articles of incorporation to name the Watchtower Society as the owners of the real estate and other material property should the congregation dissolve.
Who decides when a congregation dissolves? The Borg.
So who REALLY owns your Kingdom Hall?
You can see this if your state's record-keeping system has converted its records to pdf's available to the public. You can look at original articles of incorporation for your congregation (from the 1970s for example), and subsequent amendments.

Gilead School Changes to be read to all Congregations
by bnybyt inas of this week, and to be read from a letter to all congregations to coincide with the part on wt education at the service meeting, the announcement will be made that the gilead school will no longer be open to pioneer couples, rather it will become a specialized training school for special pioneers, traveling overseers and their wives, and those the governing body deems worthy of attending.
the gilead school has, since it's beginning, always been held in high esteem by the r&f, and seen as a summit to reach for service minded young jw couples.. could the recent dissentions by 2 gilead graduates who are actively promoting apostate ideas be influencing changes at how the gb sees the role of the gilead school and felt the need to shine this noo-light on its "educational" program?.
seems like another cemented pillar of the wt religion is crumbling as the new gb 2.0 tries to keep the ceiling from coming down.. maybe kool-aid man can devote a conference call to this subject ;-) .

They don't need Gilead for pioneer couples anymore because they have set up another "special" "school" for couples. I am thinking "graduates" of that school, unlike Gilead missionaries, will not be a financial burden on the Borg because they won't be missionaries. They'll just be told where to go live and left pretty much on their own to earn their own living. (I'm speculating and would like to see some evidence - BorgLit about both the Gilead changes and the couples school.)

Sorry I haven't gotten caught up on the youtubes. It is a major pain to convert the ustream shows into 10-minute youtube segments, and I give priority to the .mp3 archive. I'll get caught up as I can. Thanks for your patience.

BTW, my wife and daughter are practically obsessed with the paranormal. Any time something isn't where they left it they give everyone else the third degree to find out whether we moved it or whether it may have been moved by ghosts.
"Did you close the bathroom door last night?"
"How the hell should I remember that?"
"I KNOW I left it ajar but this morning when I got up it was closed. Did you close it?"
"I told you, I don't remember. I probably closed it after I went to the bathroom, yeah."
"If you didn't I think a ghost did."
"Oh Jesus Christ. *facepalm*"
I go through something like that several times a week. Could be something fell off a shelf, a book that was upright is now laying flat, iPod was on this table and now it's on that one, a shadow moved across the room. The answer is always spirits. It's never gravity, you moved your ipod and forgot, a car drove by and its lights and the bushes outside cast a shadow, no. It's spirits.
